I’m Johnathon Kaminski, founder of JQK Designs. I grew up in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, studied Industrial Design at Purdue University, and spent the early part of my career designing fine jewelry on the East Coast - most recently in Philadelphia for high-end brick-and-mortar stores. While in Philly, I trained under some of the industry’s top jewelers and diamond sales associates, earned my Diamontologist certification through the Diamond Council of America, and became certified in CAD/CAM jewelry design through the New Approach School for Jewelers and Gemvision’s MatrixGold program.
I launched JQK Designs in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania to offer a more personal, intentional jewelry experience - one that puts the wearer at the center of the design process. These days, I’m based in Carmel, Indiana, where I live with my fiancée Grace, our english cream golden retriever Millie, and a very opinionated orange tabby Cutie.
Every detail matters. At JQK Designs, I approach each piece with the mindset of both a craftsman and a designer. My background in industrial design taught me to think deeply about form, function, and longevity - principles I bring into every sketch, CAD model, and final polish. Whether it’s an engagement ring or a one-of-a-kind heirloom, I believe jewelry should be as well-engineered as it is beautiful. You won’t find anything rushed or mass-produced here - only thoughtful design, expert craftsmanship, and intentional choices from start to finish.
Sustainability isn’t a trend - it’s built into every part of JQK Designs. I work with recycled metals, responsibly sourced stones, and make everything to order to avoid unnecessary waste. Even the packaging reflects this mindset: each piece is shipped in an FSC-certified ring box, a soft string pouch made from recycled plastic bottles, and a reusable mini tote bag designed to live on as your new lunch bag or daily carry. Small details, big impact. Because I believe beautiful jewelry shouldn’t come at the planet’s expense.
